I offer limited numbers of appointment slots on my schedule for supervising or consulting to licensed clinicians, clinicians in training, and those in the helping, education, and health professions. Please reach out for more details if interested.

A good supervisor will help develop your competence in clinical skills, gain confidence in finding your own clinical styles, and facilitate congruence of your personal-professional identities.

MY SUPERVISORY APPROACH

I have provided Individual Supervision, Group Supervision, and Case Consultation to master's and doctoral-level practitioners in different clinical settings, including taught training seminars and courses for several years at Johns Hopkins University. I take pride in having the privilege to train the next generation of healthcare professionals as health care continues to evolve.

My supervisory approach is rooted in the developmental framework, such as the Discrimination Model (Bernard & Goodyear, 2014; Bernard, 1979) and the Phases and Themes of Counselor and Therapist Development (Rønnestad & Skovholt, 2013; Skovholt & Rønnestad, 1992). I believe the right level of challenge and support that meets trainees' stage of professional development helps foster optimal development in intervention skills, conceptualization skills, and personalization skills. Similar to my theoretical orientations in psychotherapy, my supervisory approach is informed by Psychodynamic/Interpersonal Process Theories. With intensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrative approaches, I have also enjoyed supervising trainees from CBT, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and other theoretical orientations, such as Person-Centered, Humanistic, Existential, Feminist, Narrative, Trauma-Focused, Emotional-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT). I primarily supervise doctoral-level and post-master's clinicians whose practice is regulated by APA Code of ethics (See: APA Guidelines for Clinical Supervision in Health Service Psychology; Ethical Principles of Psychologist and Code of Conduct). If you aspire to be a theoretical-informed, evidence-based, and multicultural/social justice-oriented practitioner who strives to adhere to high ethical standards, please reach out.
